The seven landscapes of the DO Costers del Segre shine in Barcelona before more than 300 professionals

The Costers del Segre Designation of Origin (DO) presented its wines yesterday to professionals from the restaurant, distribution, retail, and sommelier sectors at the Palau de Pedralbes in Barcelona. Throughout the afternoon, more than 300 professionals attended to discover the new vintages and innovations from the DO, represented in a range of wines that spanned from the freshness of high-altitude vineyards to the intensity of blends from inland terroirs.
Attendees had the opportunity to taste over a hundred wines from the 19 wineries participating in the event: Boldú Viticultors, Carviresa, Castell d’Encús, Castell del Remei, Cercavins, Cérvoles, Clos Pons, Costers del Sió, Familia Torres – Purgatori, L’Olivera, Mas Blanch i Jové, Mas d’en Roy, Mas Ramoneda, Matallonga, Raimat, Solana Roivert, Tomàs Cusiné, Vall de Baldomar, and Vinya els Vilars.
Guided tasting and pairing experience to discover the 7 landscapes of the DO
As part of the event, a small group of professionals took part in a tasting experience designed to connect territory, gastronomy, and wine, in the year that Catalonia has been named the World Region of Gastronomy.
The guided tasting was led by Marta Cortizas, Best Sommelier of Catalonia 2024 and of Spain 2025, and sommelier at the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, who highlighted that “the Costers del Segre DO showcases the many sensations of the territory that can be expressed through its wines and landscapes.” The selection of wines featured in the tasting corresponded to the winners of the latest DO competition, which recognized wines of exceptional quality and excellence.
The wines of the Costers del Segre DO were paired with culinary creations from the restaurant Saroa (Lleida), which continues to champion traditional, locally inspired cuisine. The menu emphasized regional products with Denomination of Origin and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status, such as olive oil, cheese, fruit, meat, and nuts.
